There have been some
pretty major changes to the counseling department this year. With
the departure of Mrs. Julia Simmons, AISL has employed two
counsellors. Mr. Barry Phipps is in charge of the middle and high
school children (grades 6 to 10) and I am in charge of the Pre-K to
grade 5 children.
I am a clinical
psychologist and whilst I am Australian born and bred, I have been
residing in Houston, Texas (U.S.A.) for the past two years. In the
past I have worked with children in a range of settings including
educational and therapeutic settings.
Whilst I am still working
out the intricacies of the role of elementary counselor, I have a
primary focus of helping children achieve their potential. This
will involve me working with children directly along with their
teachers and families to ensure that we are catering to their
individual needs.
I am looking forward to
getting to know the children and families at AISL. Should you need
