Oral Language
The Student Will:
4.1  Use effective oral communication skills in a variety of settings by:

Writing
The Student Will:
4.1  Identify and correctly use parts of speech including nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, and conjunctions.

4.2  Use capitalization correctly including titles, holidays, place names, initials, abbreviations, and historical events.

4.4  Take notes from selected materials and formulate a simple outline.

4.5  Write a paragraph from a student generated outline.

4.6  Write paragraph with a topic sentence and three to four 
supporting details.

4.7  Write narratives, explanations and descriptions by:
*
editing for correct punctuation, capitalization, grammar, and spelling.
*using descriptive and interesting language
*using brainstorming to generate ideas and writing topics
*using descriptive and interesting language
*organizing writing around a major idea
*writing several related paragraphs on the same topic
*revising writing by adding or deleting details

4.8 Write stories with a clearly defined beginning, middle and end
