We are just about to finish up lecon 6. We will be taking the quiz on Tue 9th Feb. after which  we'll move on to lecon 7.

We have started  Leçon 6 of Unit 3 "Une invitation" Student Book  page 82  in the Discovering French, Nouveau!–Bleu program. In this lecon we are learning places (around us) vocabulary and how to answer questions about peoples' whereabouts.

Our main topics are
  • To talk about where people are
  • To ask and answer yes/no questions
  • To express negation
Our Linguistic Goals are
  • To use subject pronouns
  • To use the verb Être and the negative ne & pas
  • To use yes/no questions with est-ce que
  • To  pronounce the vowel /a/ 
Our Cultural goal in this Leçon is
  • To talk about where French young people spend their free time.

Welcome back and Welcome to a new decade in our pursuit in the aquisition of the French language. We are continuing on in Leçon 5 of Unit 3 in the Discovering French, Nouveau!–Bleu program. In this chapter we are focusing on real-life communication in French. We are  practicing reading, writing, listening, and speaking on the following.
  1. to describe daily activities,
  2. to express likes and dislikes,
  3. to ask and answer questions,
  4. to invite friends to do something, and
  5. to accept or turn down an invitation.
we are also practicing
  1. how to conjugate and use regular –er verbs and
  2. the irregular verbs être and faire   
        in both the affirmative and negative.

 Chers amis,

We are begining  Unit 3, Leçon 5 of the Discovering French, Nouveau!–Bleu program. It
focuses on authentic culture and real-life communication in French. It practices reading,
writing, listening, and speaking, and introduces students to culture typical of France. By
comparing French language and culture with their own community, students employ their
critical thinking skills.
In this unit, students are learning  
  1. to describe daily activities,
  2. to express likes and dislikes,
  3. to ask and answer questions,
  4. to invite friends to do something, and
  5. to accept or turn down an invitation.
In addition, they are also learning about grammar on —
  1. how to conjugate and use regular –er verbs and
  2. the irregular verbs être and faire   
        in both the affirmative and negative.

We have finally finished Unit 2. Yippee!!! We have our Lecon 4 quiz this friday the 20th Nov. and our Unit 2 Test next week Tues 24th and Wed 25th Nov. just before the Thanks giving Break.

Chers amis,

We have finally  come to the end of Unit 2 and rounding up the unit. We will be learning a famous French folk  song Allouette and the various parts of the human body too.We are also reviewing for our Leçon 4 Quiz for next week.

Chers amis,

This week we finshed of learning about saying the date the French way with the use of our months and days of the week. We are moving on to LEÇON 4C-Le temps,
  • To talk about the weather
  • To use weather expressions
  • To identify seasons
  • To use "il fait" to talk about weather and
  • To learn about climates in various regions of France
We will also be having  a class  online research activity where we will be fining out the various weather of francophone countries around the world.
That's all for now and I say Bon Voyage !!! to our classmates going on the international Trip.

Chers amis,

This week we are moving unto time telling on the hour, after the hour and to the next hour. We are also learning how to express having an appointment or date as well as telling when an event is scheduled for .That's all for now.

Dear all,
We are moving on in Unit 2 of our French course and we just learned about foods and drinks an where we can order these items. We also learned about the french monetary system and the euros.

As we continue in our journey through our academic calender we have approached the conferencing period, which is this week. Conferencing day will be Saturday 10th October in the School Gym from 8:30am till 11:45am

Chers amis, 

As we (FRENCH 7A) continue our exploration of french language and culture, we are learning how to get along in France. For example we are currently learning how to order food and drink in a café and will go onto how to pay for what we order and how to use French Money. In addition, we will also be focusing on the basics of learning to tell time, to give the date, day of the week, and to talk about the weather.

As we move into Unit 2 of the Discovering French Nouveau!-Bleu program, we continue to focus on authentic culture of France and the French-speaking world with real-life communicative situations in French. Students are deepening their understanding of the diferences between their own language and French and appreciating the differences between their culture and various cultures of the French speaking world and We are enjoying it all the way!

We are in the sixth week of school and we have just finished the first Unit. In this unit we have learned communicative expressions and thematic vocabulary and grammar that deal with

  • GREETING PEOPLE AND SAYING GOODBYE
  • TALKING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE
  • INTRODUCING ONE’S FAMILY
  • ASKING HOW PEOPLE ARE AND TELLING HOW YOU ARE
  • ASKING AND GIVING AGES
  • COUNTING, 

The Unité 1 test will be on September 25th.
