Chers Parents,

Bonjour et Bienvenue to all the AISL students and families!

I would like to introduce myself to the new families joining us at AISL this year.
My name is Neena Ahluwalia and I am going to be one of the elementary French teachers for grades 3-5.  I spent several years of my life in France, studying and working.  I have an advanced degree in the French language (Paris, France).  I have a dual Master's degree in Early Childhood with Creative Arts in Learning, from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA, USA.  I have been an Elementary teacher for over 15 years.

It is my pleasure to have your children in my classroom and I look forward to another great year and lots of fun in our French program.
The course is designed to encourage students not only to understand, speak, read and write French, but also to understand the French culture. This helps them increase their knowledge of the world around them by comparing the French way of life with their own.  Of course learning valuable skills does not mean it can’t be fun!  Our lessons are carefully designed to provide a lot of variety in learning by means of audiovisual resources, games, puppet shows, short plays, etc.  In addition, we encourage students to integrate technology and also to make cross-curricular connections while learning the language.

Students will spend the first week going over the vocabulary and grammatical structures already learned.  I have planned a line-up of fun review activities to break the ice and to get to know all the new students as
well.

I wish everyone a very successful and enriching year!

A bientôt,
Mme Ahluwalia
