Dear parents and
students,
It is my pleasure to assume the role
of Elementary Counselor in the absence of a replacement for Dr.
Agnew. While my degree is in Special Education and Reading, I have
studied some counselling classes and am certified in Reality
Therapy. In the past, I have worked with children and adults in
various settings. I look forward to working with you and your
children to the best of my ability.
In my role at AISL, I am a resource for students, parents and
teachers. This includes, but is not limited to, providing short
term counseling; assisting teachers to devise appropriate
strategies for students experiencing either academic, social,
emotional or behavioral challenges; working with K-2nd grade
children to improve their reading skills; educating children
regarding appropriate social interaction; consulting with,
providing support to, and educating parents; providing assessments
for new admissions to our school; and coordinating the Elementary
Student Support Team.
While I continue to work in classes
and with individual students, I am happy to chat with you or your
children when available. Please feel free to drop by room 200 in
the mornings or visit the Elementary Counselling Office after 11:15
A.M. each day.
